Sushi is best when fresh and properly prepared. If it's improperly prepared or less than fresh, as it likely will be at Wal-Mart, it has a very strong, unpleasant taste that has a way of giving people a bad impression of sushi. I would say this is one item that is worth paying a little extra to try, just so you don't get disappointed. You might check at your local Chinese buffet; they usually have sushi near the cold shrimp, and it's pretty cheap if you're eating there anyway.
